There is an endangered species in the movie. It's an Okapi. It was put into the movie because it is Darrell Rooney's (the director's) favorite African animal.
Wait until the final shot of the movie where there is a zoom-out of everybody standing ontop of pride rock and Mufasa speaks to Simba, a little left from the middle, there are two small round clouds and one big blue bit surrounded by cloud underneath...
