When Jack Black is going through names of actresses, his assistant says "Miss Fay?" and Jack mentions something about her not being a small enough size. I think it's referring to the name of character in the original movie: Fay Wray!

Peter Jackson is a huge fan of the 1933's version of King Kong and has bought various props from the old movie. Some are actually in the new one, like shields, spears and bottles of ether that were used to bring down Kong.
