When you turn on your Nintendo DS on the date you have registered as your birthday, the opening chimes you hear are an Octave higher.

For some reason it doesn't work on a ds lite. Some DS systems have a special message in colorful letters saying "happy birthday!", but due to a glitch, many DS systems won't have that message and if you change your birthday afterward, the message will never appear again.
