Messages on the mainboard -

On the mainboard of the AlphaSmart 3000, behind the keyboard/display, there is a happy face printed on the board with the words "Rise and shout, this AlphaSmart's out!". I know it's on my 3000, but similar messages could be on others. I think my old loaner...

First, go into applications by pressing the applications button. Make sure you have Calculator v2.0. Then, type in 42 and press enter.
The sum should come up as "The answer to life, the universe, and everything. I don't know how many other phrases/quotes...

Take an alphasmart and take off the case screws.
The board wll be attached to the keyboard (or it will be on the immediate board, ive seen this on both sides) Deattach it from the keyboard
