Rainman Easter Egg - William & Marsha Gottsinger

During their tumultous road trip from Wallbrook, in Cincinnati, to Los Angeles, Charlie and the kidnapped Raymond stop at a diner in a small town for breakfast. There, Raymond, who has a superhuman memory, recognizes the name of their waitress, Sally Dibbs, from the local phone book. Charlie had ordered him to read it the night before, to get him to shut up about not having his books. Anyway, Raymond quickly recites her full name (Sally Dibbs, Dibbs Sally) AND phone number. She and Charlie both ask him how he did it...and he tells them about his memorizing of the phone book...or, that is, part of the phone book, up through half of the letter G. He then says the names of the last phone book entry he read: William & Marsha Gottsinger. HERE is the egg. This was something added to the script by Dustin Hoffman...William & Marsha Gottsinger are actual friends of Hoffman's. Lucky folks I'd say :-)
