Boba Fett (1 B!), according to the books and comics is also known (in the films, not real life) as Jaster Mereel. He's worked as a sort of security guard and an Imperial. In both cases he shot his betters.

He started out as Journeyman Protector Jaster Mereel, until he shot his superior, so he was kicked out and became a bounty hunter.

"Guard"?!? I'd call that uniform that Jeremy's wearing an Imperial officer's uniform. (Can't remember off the top of my head what rank he was though. Lieutenant? Captain? Anyone care to enlighten me here? Two rank bars or three?) Plus (and OBVIOUSLY), he's the officer that Lando pulls off his feet once the Bespin constabulary ambush the Imperials. (I just love that bit. The look on Jeremy's face is priceless.)

Boba wears the armor of the long dead Mandalorian Commandos, super solders who modeled themselves after the warlord Mandalore. In fact, these warriors' helmets are a direct imitation of and homage to Mandalore, who conquered the planet that now bears his name, 4,000 years before the destruction of the first Death Star. He would later become a follower of the fallen Jedi, Ulic Qel-Droma. Does that clear this up? -Khameleon

On the subject of Mandolerians, I read on an old news group about 11 years ago that they were a race of humans who were lost in space after a hyper drive acident. They evelved differently over time, became skilled warriors and experts in cloning. They used this knowledge to create an army of clones garbed in the amour. The description fits Darth Maul perfectly, very odd seeing as it was posted about 9 years before anyone saw him

Actually, Ulic Qel-Droma betrayed the Dark Lord(forget his name...he's in the Jedi Trilogy, and converts Kyp to the Dark Side)and sided with the Jedi when they destroyed Yavin Four.

The name of the dark Jedi who corrupted Kyp Durron in the Academy trilogy is Exar Kun.

Forget everything that you know about Boba Fett. It will all change with the next two episodes. There are rumors that he is a clone from a man called Jango Fett, who will fight the Jedi in Episode 2. Boba Fett is his son, and watches his dad get slain by Obi Wan.

From what I heard, Boba Fett's not a clone, but just his son, and he must've watched his dad get slain by Jedi, and thought he should be like his dad and keep up the 'family tradition" and become a bounty hunter.

I believe that Boba Fett's real name is Jodo Kast, and I believe that he is not a "clone boy". Am I correct?

Most people don't know this but Boba Lives after bieng swallowed at the pit what happens is boba uses his rocket launcher on his jet pack to blow up the stomach of the monster then he flew out. And yes boba is a clone of his father all the clones were had an age accelerator to them except boba jango never fell in love or any thing like that. Plus in episode two attack of the clones Jango ends up killing his only friend in the begining.

Boba Fett IS indeed a clone of his "father" Jango Fett. Jango was killed - beheaded - by Mace Windu in front of Boba at the end of “Attack Of The Clones”. That and the "no disintegrations" line from “Empire Strikes Back” prompted many people to believe that Boba would appear in “Revenge Of The Sith” to disintegrate Mace; he did not, in fact he does not appear in that movie at all! Contrary to what Yoda writes, and the subsequent EU novels "continuing" the adventures of Boba Fett, he does indeed die in the sarlacc pit. Listen to the commentary on the “Return of the Jedi” DVD and Lucas explains that Boba Fett does perish!

There are heaps of EU stories about Boba Fett and his origins. The better stories come from Tales of the Bounty Hunters, Shadows of the Empire and the Bounty Hunter Wars series. As far as the official movie canon goes, it can still fit in nicely with the rest of the EU with a bit of imagination... Jango Fett was one of the few surviving Mandalorians who became the basis of the Clone Troopers. He asked to have an unaltered clone made that became his son, Boba Fett. Jango Was killed by Mace Windu. Boba Fett became a bounty hunty like his father and ended up working mostly for Jabba the Hutt and developed a personal vendetta against Han Solo, who ended up knocking him into the Great Pit of Carkoon... If you add EU elements to this, then you can say that Mace Windu survives what happens to him in ROTS and Boba Fett, the son of Jango, then spends a number of years hunting him down and finally killing him. Then if you don't like the change of voice to that of Temeura Morrisons, you can say that he was killed by Jaster Mereel who took his identity and ship. Following the Sarlaac incident, you can also say that he escaped from the pit and was revived back to helth by Dengar before continuing as a bounty hunter... (I really hate the way this forum lists the comments in a random order, makes it difficult to follow)
