In the episode "A Streetcar Named Marge," in the opening act where all the cast is singing they're talking about life in New Orleans some of the lyrics include

NEW ORLEANS Home of pirates,Drunks And Wh*res
NEW ORLEANS Tacky overpriced souvenir stores
If you want to go to hell you should take that trip....etc

A few days later there was an article in a New Orleans newspaper basically talking about how the crew on the Simpsons made New Orleans sound bad, so Fox said "sorry" on the writers' behalf, and in the next episode of The Simpsons, they made a blackbord gag where Bart's writing "I will not defame New Orleans."
