Mirrors Edge Easter Egg - Life Is Sweet

In the chapter in which you scale the train platform then slide down a zipline to escape the firing cops (the street will be double-blockaded) you'll eventually take refuge in a building behind a van. The first thing I saw in here is a machine that says "Diggler's Doughnuts" with the tagline "Because life is sweet".

Immediately I tied this to the movie "Boogie Nights" starring Mark Wahlberg as Dirk Diggler. I'm attempting to develop the connection but the donut shop scene rings familiar - it's been so long for me to catch the reference in full. I'll post the picture and a comment as well.
