While Sean Penn is in his camera shop, a young gay, interracial couple passes by his window. The young black man says something to Penn. The black man's white boyfriend is none other than 'Milk' screenplay writer Dustin Lance Black.

The actual Cleve Jones also makes a cameo when Penn (as Harvey) is making his speech on the platform. (The speech where he was threatened to be shot)
