Hitman: Blood Money Easter Egg - A Murder of Crows
While I clearly knew that the level title "A Murder of Crows" was too random to be random I had never known where it might have originated.
I recently found a copy of a film by the same name and bought it - no cover, no description, no cast listing to go by. I watched it and found some fair references that completely make the title neat. The film takes place largely in New Orleans, much like the level in Blood Money. It plays into the theme of Mardi Gras (as do most things related to the town). The title for the game uses it as reference to the film and to the colorful crows you must eliminate.
Just so you're aware "murder" is actually the proper reference to a group of crows, not a verb. It's like saying a "school of fish" or a "flock of geese".
It is my personal belief as well that the game modeled the start-point hotel after scenes from a hotel in the film. If you want to find the movie it stars Cuba Gooding Jr. and Tom Berenger. It's about a man passing another man's unpublished book for his own after he dies with no family or heirs. The book turns out to chronicle actual murders which he must now prove he didn't commit even though only the author could know such details about the 5 killings.
