Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back Easter Egg - Where Did They Put the Ark Again?

In the 'incinerator room' on city in the clouds, in the background, amongst the rest of the junk, is the box from 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' that the Nazi's transported the ark in.... ( take note of the eagle on the side...)

difficult to believe, considering "Raiders of the Lost Ark" came out in 1981, while "Empire Strikes Back" came out in 1980.

MichaelMyers- that doesn't mean that 'Raiders' wasn't FILMED first.

There aren't "eagles" on the sides of the ark. They're angels ment to protect it. Duh.

DUH...he mentioned the Nazi eagle on the box, not the angels on the ark. Try reading once in a while. duh...

This is false. Empire was filmed in 1979, Raiders in 1980. As for this being added in the Special Edition, I doubt it. Why take the time and effort to add in something using computers that very few people will notice.

Sorry, Disgruntled, that statement of yours doesn't hold any water. /quote Why take the time and effort to add in something using computers that very few people will notice. /un-quote If this would be the case, why put an easter-egg in any movie. The general public doesn't notice it but they do it for people like us, or as an insiders joke. -paranoia-

He said add with computers...this would be the second time around for the movie, his comment is simply saying: "Why would they add an easter egg to a movie and waste time instead of doing their multi-million dollar computer generations." Just helping him out...

He's referring to the Nazi emblem on the side of the crate used to transport the Ark.

Didn't Star Wars come out BEFORE the Indiana Jones trilogy?

Interestingly enough, if you carefully watch the walls of the tomb the ark is recovered from in Raiders, you'll find 3PO and R2 both up there. Apparently there was quite a bit of contact between the two sets. As to the question why they do it, it's simply for sh*ts and giggles. They know it's there, so they can look for it and remember their own inside jokes. Why criticize them for it? You'd probably do the same thing...
