J.D's father, who is featured in a couple of episodes, is played by the actor "John Ritter"
Ritter also played the father in 8 Simple Rules. In the episode of Scrubs "My Lucky Day" there is a flashback to J.D and his father when he was younger. The Flashback takes place in the home from 8 Simple Rules.
