Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow Easter Egg - War of the Worlds

In the scene where the giant robots first appear, Polly is in phone booth describing the robots' advance. Her words/description are the same as those used by the radio announcer in the Orson Welles radio drama of the "War of the Worlds," as the martians approached New York City. It would appear to be a tribute to that radio classic.
