Rocket Power Easter Egg - Aliens and the Whale

About at the end of the episode where Sammy (the Squid) becomes famous, there is a reporter talking on a while a camera is rolling, about when he starts the real report if you look behind him, you will notice a U.F.O. coming down and abducting a whale! What would they need it for?

i think this is a reference to the star trek movie star trek the voyage home where the enterprise encounters a probe that speaks whale so they have to go back in time to "abduct" a whale and take it back to their time

They put the little abduction,as mentioned above, a reference to Star Trek, but that is not all. Everyone was looking for the Squid to show up for some big porformance, and as the news was rolling, everyone was bored, so it was just a joke that they missed what could have been the biggest story ever.
