Illuminatus! Easter Egg - Book Review Within Illuminatustrilogy

In the first book of the trilogy, among the many subplots there is a scene where a man is reading a(disparaging)book review aloud, and word is, that scene was put in by Wilson and Shea after the Illuminatus trilogy was rejected by an editor. Supposedly the review in the book is an edited version of the reason the editor rejected it.
