World of Warcraft Easter Egg - Human Chicken

Blizzard are well-known for tossing laughable easter eggs into nearly all of their games. This one is a two-parter.

First, create an Alliance-sided character, and target a chicken on Saldean's farm in Westfall. Target it. Using the command /chicken repeatedly (try setting this as a macro), the chicken will eventually tire of your harrassment, and give you a "puzzling look." Now that you are able to talk to the chicken, you can accept a quest (entitled "Cluck!") which requires you to find some special chicken feed for your new little friend. The feed can be bought from Farmer Saldean in front of the farmhouse. Finishing this quest yields one chicken egg (a summonable pet, one of many in the game.)

The next chicken-related egg can be found in the Shimmering Flats (better known as Thousand Needles) on the continent of Kalimdor. You can be either Alliance or Horde for this. Travel to the goblin racetrack in the center of the zone, and look for a named chicken to be waddling around aimlessly. Approach this chicken, target it, and use /chicken once more. A cloud of smoke arises, the chicken morphs into a human, waves you goodbye, and changes back into a chicken.

theres actually only one place you can do this at without being extremely annoying and getting the chicken killed by another player, and thats saldeans farm by sentinal tower with a human (it doesnt have to be human but you have to be a pretty high level to get to sentinal tower with anything else) and you can buy the feed from saldean himself, hes standing in front of the house.

The named chicken in the Shimmering Flats (where the goblin racetrack is located) is actually part of a mage quest chain. He's supposedly in hiding from another NPC around the track.

Just did the quest "CLUCK" at Saldeans farm. The quest still works and yields one nice size egg with giving a Chicken companion. 11/12/07
