Kurosawa: A Documentary Easter Egg - Kurosawa's Whiskey Commercial

From the Main Menu, go to Scene Selections. Use the Left Arrow to highlight the Japanese characters to the left of the scene list. Hit Enter. You will see a Suntory Whiskey commercial starring Akira Kurosawa.

Actually there's a lot more than just one commercial - they're scattered all over the DVD menus. Whenever you see a vertical arrangement of 3 Japanese characters (they're his name), highlight it. There are at probably about 10 or so. Many of them appear to be from the "Dersu Uzala" days. As the DVD itself explains, he directed and starred in these commercials when in between projects to make ends meet.
