Music Of Quality And Distinction - (BEF) Easter Egg - Giggling in a Song
This album was lots collaborations with BEF (occasionally know as Heaven 17) and many famous artists, doing reworks of old classics. It was instrumental in relaunching Tina Turner's career, as she did "Ball Of Confusion" on this album.
Also on here was Paula Yates doing the old Nancy Sinatra song "These Boots Were Made For Walking". In this, two thirds of the way through, the backing singers (mainly the BEF guys) start making daft noises to "illustrate" the parts of the song. At the bit where Paula sings '... and I got a brand new box of matches', they go "strike strike!" and in ' ... lessons I have learned' they go "woo woo woo" and at this, Paula starts giggling, which you can hear as she tries to keep a straight face to carry on singing the line "these boots were made for walking ..."
She composes herself well, and carries on without any more problems, but it is funny to hear and brings a smile to your face. Nice to know that music can be fun too!
