Cheaper by the Dozen Easter Egg - Gilbreth Refernce

When the kids and the dad are playing "apple smear" and when Nora and Hank drive up Nora talks about the name of the game and she says that her great grandmother Gilbreth invented it. Gilbreth is the name of the family who wrote the book called Cheaper By the Dozen who actually had 12 children.

I always thought the "Gil" reference was a nod to another of Steve Martin's movies, "Parenthood," where he played a character named "Gil."
