Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Easter Egg - Peter Jacksons Final Cameo Apperance

I watched the movie again last night and I agree it does look like Peter Jackson. I just wish it was a closer camera angle to make sure. Also it's other humans he's yelling at and not orcs. TTFN

I would tend to agree that this could very possibly be Peter Jackson, but that the distance the person is standing from the camera (even after zooming in) doesn't permit you to positively identify him. He is definitely NOT giving orders to other orcs however as "Dudemaster" has already pointed out. These men are 'mercenaries from the coast' and they aren't in Osgiliath either. They are on the River Anduin on their way to the Battle of Pelennor Fields, summoned by Sauron.

peters cameo in the return of the king appears in the extended version so this egg is fales. Peter plays a pirate an you see legolas shoot him with an arrow after going to the dead city to get the aid of the ghosts to help win the war. The other pirates in that scene are all members of the crew including barry osbourne.

While Peter's cameo was probably longer in the extended version - it is also him as the pirate in the theatrical release - I noticed it when I was watching the film on the big screen - it wasn't that hard to see it was him then.

Actually, this egg is true, if the egg-poster did simply mistake the one mercenaries scene for the orcs invading Osgiliath. The fat guy walking across the deck of the boat is Peter Jackson, you get a much closer look at him in the extended edition, where he gets shot by Legolas.

If you look at the credits, that Ork in the boat is played by the same guy who plays the Witch-King of Agmar. Peter Jackson does make a cameo on the priate ship though.

This is in fact a cameo of Peter Jackson. I just watched the extended cut (WOW!). There's something in the Cameras in Middle Earth documentary about the extended Corsair scene. PJ is the one who is yelling at everyone and is later killed by Legolas' arrow. Also on the ship that day were Andrew Lesnie, DP; Richard Taylor, head of WETA; The prosthetics guy; Rick Porras, Assistant producer; I'm probably missing someone. The DVD in general is AMAZING. I would recommend it to everyone. -iGeek

They're pirates, not orcs, and a number of the guys got made up to have cameos in that part of the movie. The extended edition does lengthen their cameos, but it is definitely Peter Jackson on the boat strutting around and shouting orders. He says so in the documentary discs of the extended edition.

Wow I remember when I put this Egg up. How funny! Anyways, I was right about this one even though I did happen to get the location wrong. I had only seen the movie once so I didn't really know what I was talking about. But I had Peter Jackson right! So he is on the boat whether you're watching the Extended Version or the original theatrical one.
