Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Easter Egg - Hogwarts Former Headmaster?

When Harry is sent up to Dumbledore's office after Justin and Nearly Headless Nick are petrified, look at the portraits of past headmasters on the walls. On the farthest to the right, right above the door when Harry first enters, is a picture of Lord of the Rings' Gandalf! (Because, the picture is small and the camera angle changes quickly, it's much easier to see with the DVD's slow motion and zoom features)

That's not Gandalf. They wouldn't rip off Lord of the Rings like that. Notice how ALL the people in the wizarding world wear big cloaks and robes that are often styled remarkably like those worn by wizards and witches traditionally, including Gandalf? It's just someone made up to look like an old wizard, and it's just a fluke that he supposedly happens to look like Gandalf from Lord of the Rings.

It may be Ian McKellan doing a cameo (that would be interesting), but he surely wouldn't do it as Gandalf.

Hold on a minute guys, If you know your Harry Potter and your Lord of the rings then you would know that the actor that played Dumbledore in the first 2-3 movies is the guy that played Gandolf in Lord of the rings so a reference to the actor is legit. Thank you Heather for your find.

Daredevil... Sorry to disappoint, but Dumbledore is played by two actors; Richard Harris in the first two films and Michael Gambon in the next 6. Gandalf is played by Sir Ian McKellen.

Daredevil, I think it's you needs to brush up on your LOTR & HP trivia. Ian McKellen was Gandalf in LOTR and never in Harry Potter. Dumbledore was played by Richard Harris in the first 2 HP movies. When he died, Micheal Gambon took his place.
