In this sacred b+w classic, snotty punk and ex-pugilist Terry Molloy-Marlon Brando reluctantly gets his day in court to testify against the murderous mob boss, Lee J. Cobb, who controls who works and who starves in the water front neighborhood.

The judge asks each subpoenaed individual who has come to testify for the head mobster just exactly what it is that they do in the "company". That is, only after he asks their names for the court record.

Slim gives his birth name as Karl Sekulovich.

That is Karl Malden's birth name. He plays the tough, liberal priest in this picture. Well, at least I thought that it was funny.
