Actually that is wrong. As listed on the official site and official credits, Wilmer Valderrama's character is listed as Fez and not Fes. Nice try.

Yes, but it's Fez, anyway. Sorta a creative license. Just look at That70sShow.com

Yeah, we get it. He's listed as Fez and everyone pronounces it with a z. But, the reason he got the name holds true, so good work trickster.

I watched a TV interview and he said that his name Fez does stand for Foreinge Exchange Student. When the bell range I think he said he just said the alphabet, thus meaning he has no 'real' name, only Fez.

In the episode where we see Fes's first day at school, Hyde asks him what his name is. As he is saying his name, the school bell rings the whole time and Hyde says, "We'll never be able to remember that. I'll just call you Fes." Fes was actually stating the first names of all the actors on the show, with "Ashton Kutcher" as the first name he states.

Fez's real name is unknown, as Fez is merely the phonetic version of the acronym FES: Foreign Exchange Student.

Of course we all know of the joke in "That 70's Show" in which the "real" name of Wilmer Valderrama's character is unknown to the audience. The name Fez is commonly misconcieved to be merely a fictional name having no true meaning behind it. This, however, is not the case as it is actually an acronym for a phrase which describes the type of character he plays on the show. Fez is actually a phonic interpretation of FES: Fluent English Speaker. This phrase, of course, applies to Wilmer's character as he speaks English extremely well despite being from another country and new to the language.
