Project A-ko Easter Egg - Pepsi Can Missles (and Others!)

Fast forward to the space battle scenes between the invading supercruiser and the Earth space station. One of the Earth starfighters launches a barrage of missles, but if you look carefully, they are actually Pepsi cans!

This movie is also chock full of cameo appearances by famous anime characters. See if you can spot:

Creamy Mami
O-yuki from "Urusei Yatsura"
Baradagi from "Kensatsu Chikyu Boeigun"
Kenshiro from "Fist of the North Star"

And, as a special bonus, at the very end of the movie, we see A-ko's parents, two very famous characters from American comicdom! Now we see where A-ko gets her strength...

You mustn't forget Colonel Sanders! The scary movie that A-ko and C-ko see has a statue of Colonel Sanders in it chasing someone. This is because there is an obscene number of Kentucky Fried Chickens in Japan, and each of them has a statue of Colonel Sanders in front that looks exactly like the one depicted in the movie.

Yea!!! me and my dad both noticed the pepsi cans the first time we watched the movie and thought it was a trip. I was just now comming here to submit the easter egg when i saw it already here. I was kind of disappointed that i didn't get to submit it, but it's still cool to verify what i saw. I also noticed the colonel snaders. I thought it looked remarkably like him and then he called him colonel. I told dad and he thought it was just a funny coincidence.

I was the one who submitted that egg. The Colonel Sanders egg is actually a reference to yet another anime movie, "Harmageddon" (Genma Taisen in the original Japanese). The scene is an exact copy of a scene in Harmageddon, except that a cyborg comes out of the alley in the original! Extra bonus: The footage from "Harmageddon" was used in an early-80's laserdisc game, "Bega's Battle."
