Cow and Chicken Easter Egg - Deformed Parents

Everyone knows that you only see mom or dad's legs, but apparently thats all they are!

In the episode where Cow & Chicken create perpetual energy with their chemistry kit, Just after Lance Sackless shows up in a tank selling girl scout cookies, you will notice that the beam of perpetual energy emits light, and that mom and dad cast shadows. If you look closely, you will notice that thier shadows stop where the screen cuts off, therefore they are only legs.

I think the shadow is only to make sure that you cannot see the shape of the body.

Chicken says that the tophalves in the closet are his science-project. He made them himself.

Cow said it was her science project, not Chicken. Can't you tell the difference?!

In that same one about when Dad gets stuck in the couch and when they search for the gums of life, Mom casts a shadow that stops at the waist, so they really are just legs

In one of the episodes you see a picture in the back round on the picture is mom and dad only as legs and above is at least one center meter left of absolutly nothing!

I just read a few days ago at the cartoon network site from Mexico, that the producer of Cow & Chicken just draw two pairs of legs (Mom and Dad) to keep the attention on the small characters (Cow, chicken, the red guy, etc), but only for the pilot episodes, then Hanna-Barbera liked the idea of the legs and they stayed that way! :)

In the episode when cow dreams of I AM WESAL as a detective with the red guy 'rubbing' everyone out, the camera zooms up when the parents walk into cows room and explain something special. There is nothing above their hips. Eww...nasty.

1) This is not "Satan". The Red Guy's real name is Lans Sackless (or something like that) as mentioned at the end of an I.M.Weasel episode (don't remember which one). He usually use a different name 'though, but his "contract" has his real name on it. 2) He's not selling "girl scout cookies", it's military scout cookies. 3) Apparently, Mom & Dad are more than just legs. In another I.M.W episode, where they investigate the erasing of people on the show, Cow is terrified to find her parents erased by half. Than again, it was a nightmare so they could be just legs.

I've also noticed that on the Halloween episode, when Cow and Chicken dress up in their parents' clothes, Chicken is wearing Dad's shirt and suit. Why would Dad have it if he's nothing but legs?

OK You guys think about what you are arguing about....... THE WOMAN GAVE BIRTH TO A COW & A CHICKEN.... Does it really matter if she has an upper body??? Plus the "devil thing" is just called The Red Guy, His name changes with every episode & they all have to do with him being naked from the waste down, example:Ben Pants.

This argument really is kind of dull, but I have the final prove: In the I.M.Weasel episode "Monkey paw", Dad asks Weasel to sign his FACE. A-HA!

*sigh* 1. In the premiere episode, yes, the camera zooms out and Mom & Dad are just pairs of legs. 2. This is a joke, but the show itself is not supposed to get serious about it, just the same way that the Simpsons never directly admit that Smithers is gay. 3. The real joke is based on older shows, where the plot is directed toward the smaller characters, for example Muppet Babies. Nanny's upper body is NEVER shown, except for her arms and hands because they may hang below the waist. In Cow and Chicken, Mom & Dad's actions all rely on their feet and legs as a spoof on this kind of thing. 4. Because it's only a joke and never directly admitted or taken seriously, any minor words or comments uttered by the characters in the show aren't supposed to be considered official, such as "sign my face" (which is just said because it is funny for a different reason) or the fact that the parents can actually SPEAK! Let's see you guys do better making a cartoon with parents who are just legs, and can do nothing but walk around. Get my point?

Get real! This is a cartoon were discussing here and to make things worse, a cartoon that is totaly psychotic. Real arguments don't stand here! I believe mom and dad are no more than just legs, all jokes point to this ovious fact. The bad dream, IM weasel episode clearly jokes about it. Cow say's something like, i dreamed that you were only half there and mom and dad start laughing. Then they show that they really are just legs. Another irony-joke. The Red Guy really is called The Red Guy and he uses numerous different names all having something to do with his but and the fact he wears no clothes. Like I B Red Guy, Seymore Buts, Lance Sackless. The contract someone pointed out just has one of his false names on it.

Just my comment. in the episode of cow and chicken where cow was trying to get chicken to eat her pie.. by acting like she was there mother. When chicken caught on to cow they zoomed out.. to just half of a dress with cow inside :).. so they showed half a body. I also think that this is a satire to "home improvement" where wilson's face is never shown.

Actually, in one ofthe first episodes of cow and chicken, they pan up the "camera" and it shows that they hve no upper body. Also, in an episode where they are at the supermarket, the mom is getting cans of the shelf with her toes and pushing the cart with her feet.

Everyone knows this! At least I thought they did. They are ALWAYS showing the parents with just legs. It's supposed to be a joke b/c on some shows they only show the legs of adults. (Charlie brown is one if I'm not mistaken!)

Um, if you know anything about David Feiss, the creator, then you know that he and his family have the reputation for making strange cartoons. Sam Kieth--who worked at Marvel once, and created the now defunct psycho-comic, The Maxx--is his cousin. That family is insane. No wonder the parents have no upper halves. Btw, if you like Feiss' work a lot, you should check out early issues of The Maxx. Sam showcased his work first with The Crappon (looks like the WB frog), and in later issues with "episodes" of Fred Flower and Uncle Italian Moose, who oddly remind me of Cow and Chicken. :) Plus, Sam worked as a consultant on Cow and Chicken.

I don't know if this has been touched on or not but isn't it funny that both Ren and Stimpys' parently figures and Cow and Chickens parents are both just legs? Actually it isn't funny at all considering Bob Camp, storyboard artist, writer, and director for both Spumco and Games animations (both studios produced Ren and Stimpy) was also an artist and director on Cow and Chicken. Which explains alot of the style similarities in animation and character design.

I can remember one episode and I don't know which one, but they were throwing something in a closet and there were two top halves of a woman and a man in the closet. So I think their tops were shown at least once.
