Summer of Sam Easter Egg - The Song at CBGB

This movie centers around the infamous Son of Sam murders in the summer of 1977. About 1:20 into the movie Adrien Brody's character's punk band "The Late Term Abortions" plays their first live show at CBGB. The song they sing, which begins "hello from the gutters of New York City...", gets all its lyrics, word for word, from one of David (Son of Sam) Berkowitz's notes that he left for the cops. You either have to know your serial killer history to catch this little inside reference or know that director Spike Lee gave a copy of the note to local punk band FURIOUS GEORGE and asked them to put music to it. The band FURIOUS GEORGE also appears in the film as the musicians in Adrien Brody's band.

Or you have to watch the part of the movie before the CBGB's scene where the letter is published in the paper.
