Actually, Instead of having to wait for Christmas day, you can just open your System Clock and set your system calendar temporarily to Christmas day, then, you can check out the egg, but don't forget to set it back. Generally what goes on (CAUTION: <>SPOILER<>AHEAD<>) when the Egg is active is all the trees are like Christmas trees, the shrubs and bushes have Christmas lights and the soldiers all wear Santa hats.
