X-Files Easter Egg - Chris Carter, Producer or Viking?

In the beginning of an episode where Scully and Mulder venture to Minesota to meet with a scientist(or a cop or something) played by Bruce Weitz (of Hill Street Blues fame), they have a television with a Minesota Vikings game on, and of course Chris Carter (the football player), is mentioned a couple of times before they turn the TV off.

I have a funny story, even if it's not an egg. I was listening to the radio, and they had some guy on that is an announcer for sports events on television shows. Like, if they have a running race on, say, Frasier (hey, who knows?), then he would be the voice giving the status, etc. He said that he drops in his friends'/bosses'/etc names, and then tells them to watch that part of the show.

There is also a football player for the New England Patriots named Chris Carter. The Ironic thing is, is that his number is 42.

Also...this episode (Irresistable) was written by Glen Morgan and James Wong who LOVE the Chargers. (The game Mulder and Scully were gonna see!)

Actually, Irresistible was written by Chris Carter, and the game they went to was Vikings/Redskins. The footage of Cris Carter catching one in the endzone was a play on the (in)famous Al Davis quite "All he does is catch touchdowns."
