Superman Easter Egg - Lois Old and New

In the early part of the movie, before he becomes Superman, Clark Kent races a train. A liitle girl riding on the train sees him running alongside and says "Look Mommy, there's a man running as fast as the train!" her mother says something along the lines of, "Lois, stop telling those fibs!" The little girl is supposed to be Lois Lane at a young age and the actress who played her mother was Noel Neil, who portrayed Lois Lane in the 1950's TV show.

And the person sitting opposite, playing the father of the young Lois, is the actor who played Jimmy Olsen in the original T V show.

Actually, Lois' father on the train is Kirk Alyn, who played Superman in the 1940's movie serials. Noel Neill (with two l's) played Lois Lane both in the 40's movie serials and the 1950's original television syndication series with George Reeves as Superman, and Jack Larson as Jimmy Olsen. Tommy Bond played the Jimmy Olsen of the 40's movie serials. Jack Larson appeared in one episode of the 1990's Lois and Clark: the new adventures of Superman as an aged Jimmy Olsen.

The reason this is only in the long version is because it was cut from the first print of the movie. This was due to the fact that while Clark was in high school, Lois was only a little girl!

also, in "smallville" - that tells the story of the young clark kent, before he became superman, the actress who plays his mother is the one that played lena lang in "superman 3". ( his second love, after lewis). also notice that all the names there begin with an "L" - Lowis Lane and Lena Lang.
