Portrait of an American Family (Marilyn Manson) Easter Egg - Ringing Phone

1. Get the CD by Marilyn Manson that is called Portait of an American Family.
2. Listen to track 13 at 5:29 seconds into the song.
3. Turn up the VOLUME on your speakers.
4. You will hear a phone ringing,
5. At 12:39 seconds the phone will be picked up and you will hear a mad mother complaining about Marilyn Manson.
6. Also, I fun thing to do might be to count how many times the phone rings before it picks up. I know that Manson is really into Numerology so it might be some significance to count them.

No, actually, as soon as Misery Machine finishes, (well at least shortly thereafter), there is a mother saying "Ghome to your mother! Doesn't she ever want you? Tell your mother I hate her! Tell your mother, I, hate, you!" Then, later on, just before the album ends, is another mother saying something about wanting her son off of his pornographic mailing list. Cheers.

No I think it is "GO to your mother" instead "Ghome to your mother" it makes more sense if you think of it

I just wanted to clarify to you all that the lady says "GO HOME to your mother." Also, the phone rings 114 times...it could be 115, maybe i counted wrong. I am a true Manson fan, and only i would actually take the time to count. I haven't looked up whether the number of rings means anything in Numerology though. So, here's some more useless information for you!

I thought it said "Go home to your mother, doesn't she ever watch you, etc etc etc" as in, why are you at my house, why am I babysitting you type of thing, etc etc.

Actually, I have listened to this song many many times, and it is plain as day, and the words at the end of the song are, and I quote (100% accurate) "GO HOME TO YOUR MOTHER!! DOESNT SHE EVER WANT YOU?!?! TELL HER, THIS ISNT SOME DAMN COMMUNIST DAYCARE CENTER!! TELL YOUR MOTHER I HATE HER!!! TELL YOUR MOTHER, I! HATE! YOU!!" I wish I knew where it came from. On the CD, it is just hillarious. Then comes the 7 minutes of a ringing phone, then "I want my son off your mailing list, bla bla, pornographic images bla bla bla, thank you and GOODBYE!!"

Grrr.... you guys, its not that hard to figure out --- YES, theres the woman saying "go home to your mother! doesn't she ever want you?" blah blah blah. This is OBVIOUS, and furthermore, not the part of this eegg... if you wait through the ringing phone, then you get to the eegg, which is, in fact, a complaining mother, saying, "I want my son off of your mailing list. I have already contacted the post office" blah blah blah... So won't everybody just shut up about the stuff right after the song ends? Something that obvious isn't exactly an egg. And I'd counted the rings like 3 times before I even saw this, and it's definately 114. I don't know if that has any signifigance... I'm gonna copy and paste something on numerology with 114 straight onto here... Distant: These are words whose secondary numeric values are an exact match. For example, the numeric value of "Rome" is 51, "War" is 42, and "Conquest" is 114. If you add up the digits (5+1=6, 4+2=6, 1+1+4=6), each one equals 6. Distants are things that are loosely related, like cousins within a family. 666.... seems right to me, and both 51 and 42 probably wouldn't be enough rings

The "Go home to your mother....." is from from 'Desparate Living' a John Waters movie. Watch it it's really bizarre. The mother complaining about her son being on the mailing list is probably an authentic answering machine recording.

I think that other people have also noticed that in the song Dope Hat, at 3:16 into the song, you can hear "I'm gonna kill you, I'm gonna kill you" mixed with the keyboards and guitars, ending at 3:35.

The phone rings 114 times. Now turn the 114 to 1+14 which equals 15. Go to http://www.eeggs.com/items/1980.html for more information about the number 15.

The line is, "Go home to your mother! Doesn't she ever watch you? This isn't some communist daycare center! Tell your mother I hate her! Tell your mother I hate you!" It's from the 1977 John Waters movie Desperate Living and is said by Mink Stole.
