Garfield Comic Strip Easter Egg - Gary Barker

In one of the Garfield strips, Jon is at a high-school reunion. He talks to a man named Gary Barker. If you know a bit about Garfield, you'd know that Gary Barker is Jim Davis' assistant that draws the blue-pencil products before they are inked and lettered.

I am a big fan of Garfield and have many of the books you speak of. This comic you refer to is in "Garfield takes his licks" (book #24). The strip is the last one in the book. I wonder if that's what Gary actually looks like!

Ok, I did my part. I have no idea who Gary Barker is, but I found the exact strip on the webpage: http://garfield.ucomics.com/garfield/gaview19920905.htm It's the daily strip from September 6, 1992. Check about 10 strips before and after this one for other names that might ring a bell.

Courtny, Jim Davis is allergic to cats, so how could the strip be from life?
