Mallrats Easter Egg - Shannen Doherty's Other Identity

Watch that same scene again, but this time, look behind Jay, Silent Bob, Willam, and Rene. You'll notice Randal from 'Clerks' walks right by.

Yeah that egg was pretty obvious. The actor who played Willam didn't know that the director (Smith) had told Shannon that he was going to call her Brenda and ended up thinking that she was really mad at him for calling her that. As for the Randal thing I am pretty sure that is not Randal (Jeff Anderson) that walks by in that scene. You can't see the guys face and if it was a cameo by him don't you think they would have at least showed his face? Plus Kevin Smith got into a fight with Jeff Anderson right after they made Clerks and they didnt talk or see each other until before "Dogma" where Jeff Anderson makes his appearance as the shopkeeper at the gun store.

I don't know of them having a fight but Anderson also makes an appearance in Chasing Amy as the guy sitting next to Ben Affleck at the hockey game.

Jeff Anderson has only been in Clerks, Dogma and the new movie Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. He was never in Mallrats or Chasing Amy.

That was NOT Jeff Anderson sitting next to Ben Affleck at the hockey game. That was Ernie O'Donnell (the guy who played Rick Derris) who was seated next to them. This is according to the Official View Askew website with the "Chasing Amy" FAQ. "Clerks" and "Dogma" are the only movies that Jeff Anderson has graced his presence with. He is supposed to appear in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back this summer along with a ton of Kevin Smith alumni.

If you listen to the commentary on Dogma Kevin Smith confirms that Anderson only appears in Dogma and Clerks. That should put this to rest.
