Boogie Nights Easter Egg - Check the Color

Thank you...I usually never look to the color bars, but now that I did the little note from P.T. Anderson on the back of the box is pretty right to the point... The diggler in question looks a lot more realistic than the one in the final shot...and yes it is Mr. Wahlberg behind the prosthetic...check out the tattoos. Does anyone know about "The Dirk Diggler Story" a short film by P.T. Anderson that was boasted as being included on those advertisements inside the disc case?

For those who don't know, the footage is of Screen Tests of the prosthetic p*nis, and an out take of the Col. going off on how much he loves Dirk. The Dirk Diggler story is some of the shots of John C. Reilly's character talking about Dirk on 16mm. It's in there, on the second disk, I think.

No, "The Dirk Diggler Story" is a short film from about ten years before Boogie Nights that P T Anderson made, and narrated by Anderson's father. It's a mockumentary. Part of the new features on the platinum edition is a lot more footage of Jon C. Reilly, one of Anderson's favorite actors, who appears in almost everything Anderson shoots.
