When the police first come to John Robie's (Cary Grant) villa, he evades then and gets on a bus. Once he sees them returning to his villa, he turns his attention to the bus. First, he is amused by the woman and her bird cage on his right. Then, he looks to his left, where we see half of a very stoic Alfred Hitchcock.
