Age Of Empires II: Age of Kings Easter Egg - Flying Dogs and Monkey Boys

Get into the map editor. Click the units button.
Get into the Gaia selection of units, and look
until you find "Stormy Dog". You will get a
flying dog with a red cape! As far as I tell, these don't do anything besides fly around like
birds, but it's still pretty funny.

Also, you will find a unit called "Furious the Monkey Boy" (though not only in the Gaia section).
You get an orangutan with a punch that will knock down a gate in three swings.

Not exactly historically accurate but pretty good for kicks.

You're sure you have the expansion for Age of Empires 2, right?

Since we're on the subject of Age of Empires 2 Expansion, let me show you an egg I found, but wasn't accepted :( 1 Get into the Age of Empires 2: The Conquerors single player menu. 2 Click, "The Conquerors Campaigns" button. 3 On the map thing, click the "Battles of the Conquerors" icon. 4 In that menu, click the icon that says "Vindlandsaga." It's the one with the Viking longboat over it. 5 Once in the game, hit enter, type in (without captions), "Marco" and hit enter again. The map should become completely visible. On the lower half of the map, you should see a sea monster in the water.

The sea monster is part of the game. It is the Sea of Worms. Try sailing a ship towards it. It sure surprised me....

My strategy guide says it represents a part of the sea where thousands of worms eat away at the hulls of ships. In other words, Ensemble scripted the scenario in a way that if any object comes into that area, it is immediately destroyed. Still, they didn't have to draw a monster...

Someone writes:
Actually it is a monster from the old Nordic mythology, called Midgaardsormen (or Midgårdsormen, if you are Danish). The god Thor tried to catch it, using an anchor as a hook, but failed.

Midgårdsormen, as we say here in Sweden and also in Denmark, was lying around the world. The vikings thought that it grew but was eating its tail so its diameter didn't change. So that can't be Midgårdsormen because if its tail leaves the mouth, Ragnarök will happen.

Maybe you should also have explained that Ragnarok is the end of the world?

BTW, that sea of worms thing is probably made because the Vikings was said never to go so far out on the sea that they couldn't see the shore. And Microsoft didn't want the players to do either.

weell if u watch out on the Midgardsorm(Thats what it's called in Norway) the Green team(Greenland)sails right over the worm, why i don't know, but i have been sucsesfull in coming over to the other side, either follow the coast of Greenland or get all the way down in the map, send only one ship at the time and do this quikley, if you are to slow you will loose your ship.

The monkey is in the heroes section. If you use the woof woof cheat, then 'natural wonders' to control the animals, you can control where the dogs fly, unlike the birds.

You can type in "woof woof" (no quotes) to get the dogs. Type in Furious the Monkey boy andget the monkey boy. ( I tried it, it only knocks the stone walls with two hits) There are other unit cheats, but you will learn them later ;)
