This originaly was supposed to be part of the dam level. You would reach the island by boat. But the programmers took out the boat but left the island.

yea, the programers at Rare ran out of space in the game so they had to cut some stuff out. The boat and stuff in the dam were part of the stuff that cut out. That's also why sometimes if you shoot General Ouromov in the silo level, he'll drop his briefcase. You were supposed to have to get the key out of his briefcase and then use it to exit the level. And there was supposed to be another whole level called 'The Citadel'. Plus, that's why Oddjob and Mayday are in the opening. They were supposed to be in levels in the game too, but Rare couldn't fit them in, but didn't bother taking them out of the credits.

If you shoot Ouromov with the Gold PP7, he'll die and drop the briefcase. The official strategy guide mentions that he might drop his briefcase as he runs - a reference tothe prerelease version.

Actually, rangeviper, 'Citadel' was not planned to be in the game, but as a test level for multiplayer. Also, Mayday and Oddjob would not have been in it anyway. Fully explained (among other pieces of information) here: http://www.rareware.com/recent/games/bond/rmill.html

I don't doubt you dark smurf, as I've been to rare's site many a time, yeah the Citadel was only a test level, when you use gameshark to get it, it's basically the exact same as the bunker.

Ok, people keep emailing me, asking me about the citadel and the other things I've written about (weapons, levels, etc, that didn't make it into the game). Well, to learn more about the citadel, go to: http://www.webarmor.com/metafire/spyder/Gold.html Go to near the bottom of the right side and click on 'The Citadel' to learn more. I'll put the address of where to find out about mising guns, objects, missions and hidden tricks, later.

Why do they always have to cut out the cool stuff??? I would much rather take a boat to the secret island than play those lame bonus levels at the end, which are damn near impossible to beat, even on Agent.

Games designers have a habit of doing things like this. There WAS going to be a multiplayer in Majora's Mask, but they ran out of time and gave up. DK64 was going to have at least 3 extra levels- ever wondered why the island is so big? The only game by Rare that was finished properly was Perfect Dark, and even then they forgot to remove the cheese!!!!

Perfect Dark was very cut. There were plans on a face-mapping feature utilizing the Game Boy Camera, but it was cut, and you already mentioned the cheese.

Any "Citadel" codes or screenshots that you find in Goldeneye are completely fake. For example, the supposed Gameshark code that lets you access the Citadel merely changes the pointer to the "Bunker" menu text to point to the "Citadel" text in memory, removes all items from the Bunker, and changes Bond's suit to the generic blue suit. Along with the fact that as of yet there are no level modifiers for the GS that can access the supposed "Citadel", let me point out to you a couple other things that prove the non-existance of the Citadel: 1) In the memory of the N64, there is a list of all level abbreviations. *There is no abbrevation for the Citadel.* By abbreviations, I mean that the Archives become "ARCH", Arkangelsk Chemical Weapons Facility becomes "ARK", and so on. All of these abbreviations are pointed to by pointers somewhere in memory. Oddly enough, there is no Citadel abbreviation, not to mention the fact that there are no pointers in the list of level pointers that indicate removed abbreviations. 2) Along with the above comment, there are no pointers or text in memory for item placement, level maps, or briefings, while there are for all the other levels. Finally, on a different subject, there are a LOT of items left over from the Beta revisions of Goldeneye, they are only inaccessable without a Gameshark. For example, there is Ourumov's car from the movie, there's the boat from the Dam, an APC that is assumed to have been planned for Surface, a camouflage helicopter, and a red truck which is assumed to have been used in the Depot to go along with the trailer found in the Depot. Along with that, there are all sorts of unused sounds such as elevator dings and the like.

Actually having helped work on a Action replay websites Citadel team.... (a team of dedicated coders ready to bring back a version of citadel) i know that citadel was a level in the game. Its in the games code if you use an action replay code the Citadel name comes up after the eygpt level. There is speculation that citadel is actualy was a original name for the eygpt level. I also have the codes to change the truck on the dam into any of the missing vehicles in the game including the moterbike. Also thier were many beta stuff not included in the final release this included the boat for the dam , the moterbike for the streets level, the extra characters for the last levels. A whole level called the casino which included some new weapons (which i also have codes for) .... we also started work on the Control level turning it into CITADEL everything was covered new start weapons different textures disabled guns etc... new enemies... but i left the website last year and have no address i still have the codes if anyone is intereted... i ll have to dig through my action replay card to find them :s

If you kill Quaromov in Silo- he drops a key. The key is called '-' (without brackets) This is probably for a room or something in the original version.

re: Jacob Gullickson It is true that there was going to be a face mapping feature using the Game Boy Camera but it was not cut because there was not enough time or anything like that. It was actually removed because it raised too many moral issues e.g. should people be running around butchering their mates?

I know you said this a while back, but kingypie, The Extra levels are hella easy to beat. The only one I had trouble on was the Aztec, on OO mode. The Egyptian temple is extremely easy. But I too would rather have had the motorcycle, and the boat in the game. Also the changes made to the Frigate and Facility really make me mad. The Frigate used to be a realistic looking Destoyer ship, called, the DESTROYER. And I'd like to slap someone for the Faciliy, it used to look exactly like in the movie. Darn Them!!!!!!!!!!!

I also noticed, that in the same level if you walk about halfway down the damn, and take a sniper rifle and look left you do see something funny on the island. You see a red and white stripped umbrella, and beach chair. It's not hard to see..but since it's so far away it's kinda....foggy.

This is a really neat thing to see in action. I do wish that the Egyptian level was left out and the space used for the Dam (not DAMN, dumboes)and Facility levels. Oh, if only the 64DD were a success.

If you shoot Orumorv(sp?) with dual lasers (no action replay or gameshark) he'll die. 006/Alec will shoot guards that come along forever. As for multiplayer for Majora's Mask, that is false. There were no actual plans for multiplayer. They had a very small team because they used the OoT engine, reusing most character models. While there would be room for mutiplayer, there was no intention of adding it. I have seen the cheese. I still have no idea what it was for.

Actually, the cheese in perfect dark was originally meant for that if the players found them (Shot certain unreachable ones), they would unlock one of the various cheats in the game. Now you just have to beat it in the corresponding time, sadly. But the developers left the cheese in there for just easter egg purposes, and some were even moved, so they'd be hard to locate. How unfortunate, i think finding geometric cheese in each level would've been fun.
