Actually, I never saw him when they were talking with the "leader guy". I saw him once when Tommy is walking with Will when he first comes in, around when you hear "Duration of stay?" "Lunch" ...or at least part of that conversation. You see him again when Tommy is showing Will the big oval screen with celebrity aliens on it.

Actually, when they discover that an alien has left Manhattan, J and K are talking to Zed. Zed talks to a guy on the screen across the office ("Humanoid?" "You wish. Bring a sponge."). Look very carefully.

You can tell the storywriter was not american, the lettering would be Zee :)

I saw that part where he says humanoid ... but when he says it he is talking to a screen. I watched that scene 10 times and I never saw it. When Zed is talking there is nothing behind him except this wierd light to the left. On DVD this is at 39:34. At the screen where he says humanoid I see, 2 floors and people walking everywhere. No upsidedown guy

The upside down man IS NOT an egg. If you read the movie guide it points him out saying something about him. People might not notice him but he's not there as an easter egg.
