Half-Life: Opposing Force Easter Egg - Half-Life Secret Penguin Weapon

oposing force has been out since november '99.... and this was never really found out until now (August 2000)....

in oposing force... type in the console "give weapon_penguin"

now you got a penguin with a grenade on his back that acts like a snark... he'll keep chasing his target

This will only work with the updated (patched) version of Opposing force i.e. it won't work with 1.0.0.0. The official patch comes with most of the recent ordinary Half Life ones.

This is in there because it is a weapon found only in OpFor CTF, which came free with the last few patches.

Actually, the penguins are less of a secret than you thought. They are in the level Op4ctf_wonderland. There is a snow man on a snow covered platform right in front of either base. Run into this and you now have 3 incredibly dangerous penguins (I suggest binding the command mentioned above to a key for some extra fun playing single player.)

It seems there is another hidden easter egg in the exact same category. You can carry a maximum of 9 deadly penguins and when you type give_penguin in the console when you already have 9 penguins a snowman will appear where you are standing and he will have a message in his hand saying "Beware of Penguins"

Evry time you let a penguin there must be a target or... YOU WILL BE IT and a verry usable TIP (BE FAR AWAY you don`t want to die right-and start all over) nad it is a dangerious weapon
