"Winners Don't Lose Frogs" is a reference to the 1992 Epic Megagames game Jill of the Jungle. One of the weapons that Jill could wield was a leap-frogging frog that would venture out in front of Jill, kill enemies on contact, and return back to Jill. The frog could get stuck inside the level. It wasn't a glitch, it's just that the frog could leap into a hole or an obstruction it could not leap out of. The text itself, "winners don't lose frogs" is on a number of information panels in the game, around the area where the frog is first available - a reminder not to launch the frog where one couldn't retrieve it again. :)
