Labyrinth Easter Egg - Maurice Sendak

In the opening scene of Labyrinth, they pan the girl's room and, on the book shelves directly in the forground are some specifically placed books. Several are Maurice Sendak and one is DEFINATELY the basis for the movie: "Outside Over There" He is even given credit at the end of the movie. You also find some pretty interesting references to MC Escher here as well.

This scene alone contains more referrences than perhaps the rest of the movie put together. I can't believe there aren't more eggs listed for this film. Oh well, I'll elaborate on that if ya don't mind. The referrences to MC Escher are at least three in number. 1. A particularly popular title of his, Relativity, is hung over Sarah's bed at the beginning. This is the picture from which they based the house of stairs at the end (while Bowie is singing "Within you") 2. At any time during the film, the only thing that always remains the same with Jareth's outfit is a gold (or is it silver?) medallion that is constantly hung around his neck. It's sort of a triangle shape, and in the very center is inscribed a Mobius Strip (to represent infinity) surrounded by ants. Another MC Escher egg. 3. At some point in the film, I don't remember where, the distant backdrop shows the building shown in his famous drawing "Ascending".
