Very (Pet Shop Boys) Easter Egg - Secret Song in End of "Go West"

I heard that this song (which is quite lovely by the way) is a "tribute" to a close friend of Chris' who died - can anyone confirm this? Does it have a title?

I believe this track is called "Ecstasy" but I don't know what it's about!!

The lyrics are: I believe in ecstasy The times we've had as you and me Friends we've met along the way Partied every night and day And I know we'll meet again --- So take your pick between a song about what fun he's had in the band, or a tribute to a just-departed friend.

The official title for this hidden track is "Postscript", not "Ecstasy". Lyrically, there is no "as" between "times we've had, you and me". From the extended notes on the re-mastered 2-disc set of the album, the track's history is as follows: CHRIS: It's meant to be a secret...I wrote it on the piano. NEIL: Chris is (SINGING ON IT).I play all the keyboards on it. It's a reversal of roles. Chris plays the piano though. He just said, "I've written this thing and I want to do it like this". It was in the style of REM - that's what I thought. CHRIS: To me it sounds like "Last of the Summer Wine". It just came out. I wrote it at home. The shame of it. It's a one-off. NEIL: I think it's really sweet, this song. Someone's father complained that the Pet Shop Boys had put out a song at the end of their album encouraging the use of the drug ecstasy. CHRIS: It's not about that. It's personal.
