Monkey Island 1 Easter Egg - Easy Win

At any point, you can hold down the CTL and W key. You'll be asked if you want to win the game. If you press 'Y', you find that you got 800 points out of 800. The credits roll. Then you get instructions to go to bed, repeatedly.

Pretty funny!

That's not an egg, that's a cheat! And a very good one, it just kicks the butt of people who're looking for a cheat to win the game.

You can do this in all MI games one way or another. I think it's ctrl+w in MI3 as well, which gives the same 'are you sure you want to win?' message.

You should also notice that if you have the 256 colour floppy disk version (dunno about the original floppy version and CD-ROM version), the music is different if you press CTRL W to win instead of actually winning the game. If you play all the way to the end, the music stays the same as just before you won and the game ends. But if you cheat with CTRL W it plays the circus theme music.

Points? Neither the original floppy disk version for the Amiga or the PC, nor the CD release with MI2 had a points system in it. The Indy series did, but MI doesn't. There's no point in the CTRL-W (Alt-W on some versions) cheat, since you only see the credits, you skip the interesting finales (fireworks & love theme in MI1, Big Whoop Carnival in MI2, haven't tried MI3 yet)

To whoever said there was no points system in the game, that was just another of the thousands of high-quality jokes put into the game by the makers. Try not to take everything people say so seriously! :)
