Lion King, The (Disney) Easter Egg - Sex in the Flowers

1. Go to the part where Simba and Nala are singing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?"

2. During the song, while they are rolling down the hill in the background, if you look carefully, the foreground flowers spell SEX.

How's that for children's entertainment?

I think Disney has claimed that the animators were actually crediting the film's special effects team, and that the dandy lions are actually spelling 'SFX'. If the studio had to respond, this must be very well known!

You know that Disney obviously meant the "SEX" reference, whether they meant to pay tribute to "SFX" or not. If they were really paying tribute to SFX, they would and should have made it obvious that it was SFX and not SEX. You don't make ambiguous tributes to people . . .

Here's what I have to say.. Disney probably put sex, but claimed it as sfx. It is extremely obvious that sfx is a cover up for sex

Why shouldn't Disney put these eggs in? If a child is capable to realize that it says SEX in the flowers, then they are looking too hard. Cartoons should be considered simple entertainment and possibly educational. And if a child notices it, what do they think? Do you teach your children the word sex? Children are very smart and capable, however, letters plotted inconspicuously in one frame is hardly going to catch their attention. And why would you let your kids watch movies frame by frame anyway? Let them go outside and play. It's healthy.

I think that Disney puts these kinds of eggs and all of the rest of the adult oriented jokes in their movies to make it fun for us too!! Our children do not look for these things and I don't believe if they did see them, they would understand anyway. You Go Disney!!!!!!

I think there are just some sick people that make the Disney movies. I do not think "Disney" put those in there to be eggs. It is most likely just a couple of people that work with Disney

Now this one is just sad. Not only are there no dandelions on the hill, the only flowers are some pink things that don't look like any words at all. The only way you can see the words sex is you take a couple of swigs of Bud before watching this and then squint real hard. The flowers look nothing like the letters s, e or x. It looks more like UPF if anything. By the way, Disney has never claimed they put the words SFX anywhere. That's only other people saying that. So, quit trying to accuse them of using cover up stories that they never used. If you see SEX in flowers or leaves, it's only your mind thats seeing anything. Sorry.

Having read all the SEX egg claims, and the comments thereto, I agree with Disgruntled. It all seems to me to be a case of the "seek and ye shall find" syndrome: look hard enough for "sex" in everything and you WILL see it. Whether it's there or not makes no difference to this...

Your children are not looking for these things anyways! They don't care about sex, SFX, or what ever. They just want to watch the movies. Bored adults find these little subliminals, not children. I say, watch a different kind of movie if your only looking to pick apart Disney. When you were a child and you watched an animated Disney film, did YOU see subliminal sex stuff??? NO!!!

You can see that word anywhere if you really obsessingly tried. I looked at this, and it barely resembles letters! You're looking too hard.
