They actually used a "screen-shot" of that scene for a poster for the movie. Go check out your local record store or movie store and check it out.

I need more info on the scene. I check it out and the only thing I found was a close resemblence of DV when Jar Jar picked up Anikin after the race.

it's clear as day starwarsnut, when watto and qui gon are making a deal over the pod races.. more specifically, when qui gon takes out his hologram display of his ship.. look behind him.. you can see a faint shadow, then qui gon circles around watto a bit.. and it is ever so clear that is is a vader suit when the camera goes back to him.. right after that shot.. the camera goes to watto, and you can see a C3-P0 shell right behind watto as qui gon leaves..

Yguys are spazzing out over nothing. I have had many people ask me about my egg, and I will tell you what I have told them. The scene I was talking about was when Qui-Gon-Jin and Anakin are about to board their ship. Then Darth Maul comes and atatacks Qui-Gon. Many others, and I, have proved that this shadow has been removed from the vhs version of the movie. It is only, or was, only on the "reel" version of the movie. If you have any access to one of these, check it out, and try to prove me wrong. Hehehe, my favorite comment is from the guy that spazzed out and said "another fake people!!!". It is not that funny, but when you say it in the voice of Richard Simmons it is perfect. Thanx again everyone, and get out more, for christs sake...

OK, I'll call you on it. I have a bootleg of the original release of TPM. I have frame by framed through the entire scene you describe. Darth Vaders shadow is no where to be seen. All the shadows around Anakin are shadows originally cast by Jake Lloyd. Your up in the night man.

I do wish they did put the poster of Anikin with the shadow in the movie. It would have been great. The poster takes place long before Qui Gon and Obiwan arrived at Naboo. Read the book. It has everything. Exar,It doesn't sound like your bootleg copy is a real copy.I beleive he ment seeing it in the Theater. Josh if you would of read my statement clearly, you would of know that I wasn't talking about the suit, but the shadow. The suit was found and freeky.

My VHS copy is an original release of the film. Hell, I even have the audiences applause when DM is sliced. The egg described above is a figment of his imagination. I like his imagination though, I pictured the Richard Simmons voice and he's right it was funny as hell. By the way I have read the book. I liked how they got into how there can only be two siths. Cool stuff.

Think, Anakin IS Darth Vader! He's luke's father (Anakin Skywalker-Luke Skywalker) and in I-don't-remember-which Episode he said the famous phrase- "Luke, I am your father!". Maybe it's not even an egg but a symbol. I wonder how come that no-one mentioned it...

Sam writes:
No one said it because most people already know! No offence but I think you're no a die hard Star Wars fan. First, Vader never said "Luke, I am your father!". He said "No. I am your father!". Second, it was said in ESB. You know what that is. Right?

Actually, I beg to differ. In fact, The VHS version of TPM has several changes from the theater version. For example, Remember the time Jar Jar broke the droid on the Naboo cruiser during the escape? It's not in the VHS version. Or how about the time when everyone is kneeling before the gungans? In the VHS version, everyone is kneeling. In the theater version, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon are not kneeling. Also, in the Jedi council, the members of the council told Qui-Gon to not get involved with the conflict...only to protect the queen. This too was deleted in the VHS version. I'm sure there are other differences I missed. These are only the ones I remember.

...sorry to take up two comments on this, but can you imagine, Richard Simmons, in his leotard, on the set of a late-night show (as he is always on one) getting out of his chair, in response to this, and screaming "ANOTHER FAKE, PEOPLE!!!" to the audience. Simply hysterical.

Hello I think they made the poster scene and decided to cut it from the movie because it would be too stupid, EVERYONE knows that Anakin is darth vader by not including hints that he is darth vader Lucas has allowed the next generations of Star Wars fans to live the saga from beginning to end preventing what happened when the diluted expectations of current fans ripped SWE1 apart and will with the next 2. They can edit a movie and add/delete scenes just like on TV because they put the annoying/redundant disclaimer at the beginning of every TV-movie/VHS/DVD/LASER DISK/VCD/ect. “Format= screen ratio and frame sequence/length” allowing them to shorten the movie to fit on the tape! I have clips from the copy I ran and I have a VCD copy “the closes thing I can get to DVD ~HeHe” they did not include it. ESB for those that don’t be knowing is “Empire Strikes Back” hehe

I don't know what version of the movie I have, but I didn't even have to put it in slow-mo to determine that it was the definite outline of Vader. Of course I double-checked in slow motion. Actually, it was my sister who noticed it. She notices that kind of stuff.

I'm not a real fanatic of the 'star wars saga', but I do enjoy the films. Anyway, you fanatics out there probably know this already, but I think 'Senator Palpatine' is the 'Evil Emperor'. Correct me if I'm wrong and please tell me if I'm right. Please mail me.

Yes, Darth Sidious is Palpatine. I don't know exactly how it works out, but notice how Darth Sidious isn't mentioned in the credits. That's the big giveaway right there....

Did it ever occur to you that this shadow usage might have been INTENTIONAL? Lucas wanted to allude to the fact that Anikin is in fact Vader...for those out there who are stupid enough not to realise!!! And of course Senator Palpatine, Darth Sidious and the Emperor are the same people, the vocal inflections are almost identical, and it's so damn obvious anyway!

Darth Vader?Mhhh. Well i don't see anything either and i was trying to find it but it was nowhere. I even started to find in the whole movie for shadows of Darth Vader. The poster that appears Anakin walking on the sand and Darth Vader shadow showing on the tent is only a poster to make people see the movie and how a Anakin Skywalker was as a little kid and then turns to Darth Vader. Well i don't see any shadow so don't bother looking for it. :-)
