Dogma Easter Egg - "Mage" and "Madman" Action Figures

During a scene with Jason Lee in a department store (I can't remember quite where) he's standing in front of a row of action figures. They are Mike Allred's "Madman" and Matt Wagner's Kevin Matchstick figure from "Mage". Kevin Smith is a big fan of both comic creators, and Allred even did some artwork for Smith in "Mallrats" and "Chasing Amy".

Matt Wagner did the first short comics written by Kevin Smith in the first issue of ONI Double feature. So he threw in the mage figure for that. Plus the company that produced the figures also does the distrubution for some of his T-Shirts and they made the Jay and Silent Bob figures. I can't remember the name of the distributor right now.

Don't forget the obvious fact that both Madman and Mage kick a@$ majorly.

If I'm thinking correctly, the scene you are talking about is when Jason Lee is telling Matt D. and Ben A. that they CANNOT go through the doors of the church. He was trying to explain what would happen if they did. Remember?

LM... What Azrail is telling Loki and Bartleby is that they have to keep a low profile. That both sides are looking for them (but it's a lie).

LM - He's telling them they can't be as obvious as they are, not that they can't go through the doors. ("Everybody above and below are looking for you guys! God because you'll prove him wrong, and Lucifer because you'll finally be able to do what he never could!") I don't want to give away the ending for those who haven't seen it, but watch the movie again and you'll see why Azrael wouldn't tell Bartleby and Loki not to go through the doors.

Did we see the same movie, KillerBob and LM? Because Azrael NEVER EVER EVER tells Bartleby and Loki to avoid going though the doors. He doesn't tell them what's going to happen, he never says anything more than "keep a low profile," and stay "in cognito." He warns them to be careful because everyone is trying to hunt them down. He WANTS them to pass through the doors. He knows exactly what happens, and he welcomes the negatation of existence because he has been condemned to darkness, torture, pain and solitude as a demon in hell. Jeez, don't you pay attention?

LM, I can understand your confusion, but Jason Lee's character, Azriel, is later revealed to be the person that sent the banished angels the article to give them the idea in the first place. He reveals that later in the movie in the scene in the bar. It wouldn't make sense for Azriel to tell Bartleby and Loki not to do it.
