Unreal Tournament Easter Egg - Pretty Fly...

Start the map dm-codex (codex of visdom)
In one place of the map there is a square room with a pillar in the middle an one hall on each side.Go in to the hallway with a lift on the right side and a wall straight forward. Now stand at that wall. The door opens when a trigger is activated in another place in the map. The trigger is a lamp on the wall that needs to be shot. I cannot describe the precise location, but it is one of four lamps on walls that surround a small stairway slightly higher from the place. Otherwise, you can make it a lot easier just typing in the "ghost" cheat to go through the wall.(you must type in "iamtheone" to get the cheats to work)

In the room you will se something really funny!! A picture of a guy (maybe one of the programmers) and the text "Pretty Fly..." under the picture.

Now shoot at the text.

You can't go into the room, because if you do, you die. If you use God mode to go into the room, and then unload about 900 rounds from the minigun into the picture, you die.

I found that an easier way to do this is to set up a practice session, and before the game starts, turn on ghost mode, fly to the nearest wall, go thru it and look around, you will spot the picture immidiately, and then look at it there... And you dont die when you shoot it either

To open the door more quickly, and without using cheat codes, use the following procedure. Go up the elevator nearest the secret door, and go on the catwalk across the center room, stopping where the shield belt is. Turn right, and jump over to the ledge and enter that room. This should be a room with 4 passages leading to a central space. Along one of the passages, there are 4 lights, 2 along each wall. Shoot 3 or 4 enforcer bullets into one of the lights closest the center of the room. I don't remember if it is the one on the left or right, but try it and see. There is no sound or other confirmation that it has worked: you have to actually go back downstairs and look for yourself!

That "Cliff B." guy, is the author of dm-codex. He also made dm-tempest and dm-turbine. There is 1 quick way to get to that room. Follow the instructions from the original egg but do it when you are in Spectator Mode (before the real game starts). You see, you can fly arround everywhere you want and trough every door. That secret room has a door! Thanks for reading this

You don't get hurt when you shoot it, only when you enter the chamber. I don't know what it's called, but to Quake map makers, it's called a trigger_hurt. When you walk into it, you get hurt. For the Q3 space maps, that's all that the void is: one huge trigger_hurt set to take 20,000 health points away from the player who enters it.

I found this one by accident. I was being chased by someone and in haste I ran away from that area. just before that wall went off screen, I saw the picture mentioned. I went back later to find it, but it was nowhere to be found. For some reason, I didn't have to wait a really long time as described in the Egg description.

I, like a few others who have posted here, was running through this part of the level, minding my own business, when I was suddenly and inexplicably in the room looking at the picture. My health increased to 140, then started to come down by 10 every 2 seconds when it hit 120, the picture was gone, and I spent a few seconds figuring out where I was, before finding myself back in the room with the pillar and medipacks in the centre. On returning to the spot mentioned, I couldn't trigger it again, although one player who joined me was able to noticed a slightly different "rectangle" of texture in the middle of the wall that I couldn't see myself, presumably the door.

If you fire up the UnrealED level editor, you can see the pictures and the pretty fly text in the UTech1.utx folder (in UnrealED 2.0).

This is in the PS2 version but the caption I saw said "I love you (some female name)". I'll need to see if I can force open the door in the PS2 version as you can in the PC version.
