Gnomeo & Juliet Easter Egg - Nods to the Bard

Gnomeo & Juliet is based on the William Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet. The creators decided to give a few tips of the hat to the famous Bard.

Miss Montague’s mailbox is number 2B. Mr. Capulet’s mailbox is 2B with a red slash and circle (“to be or not to be” from Hamlet).

Featherstone’s shed contains a ticket stub for the play “As You Like It.”

When Juliet is threatened by a bulldog, she screams “Out!” and the dog’s owner yells “Damned Spot!” (Macbeth)
