Mallrats Easter Egg - Ben Afleck's Character

Ben Afleck's character in the movie, the "jerk from Fashionable Male", is named Shannon Hamilton. This was Shannen Doherty's married name during her brief marriage to actor Ashley Hamilton. I read somewhere that she and Kevin Smith thought it would be funny to add that in.

No, the name came before she signed on. It might be a ref to a character from Fast Times at Ridgemont High though..."
