The colour of the picture of the horse in the bathroom is Rose Madder. A reference to King's other novel of the same name.

Isn't that interesting. In Rose Madder - she falls in love with that picture in the pawn shop and takes it home. I haven't read desperation or the regulators yet. I wonder what the horse picture represents. I have just recently received desperation. Can't wait to get started reading it!!

It's odd, Desparation, The Regulators, And Rose Madder all tie together....The characters in the regulators are the same as in Desparation as are in Rose Madder. The young characters in Desparation are older in The Regulators and vice versa. It's kinda cool, because you really don't have to read the books in any certain order.

Yeah, they all tie in.. in the regulators however, they're different, but the same.. you catch me? In desperation, they're totally different personalities.. but same looks, name.. so on so forth However, in Rose Madder, Cynthia, from the first two books, is in hiding from the boyfriend who bit her ear, which is mentioned in desperation, and not in the regulators.. so Rose Madder is probably before Desperation, and meant to tie in somehow. he does this a lot with characters.

The cover of Desperation appears on the back of the Regulators and vice versa. also, when you put them side by side, the covers make one picture.
