Osmosis Jones Easter Egg - Final Exit

From the Main Menu go to Special Features. Once in Special Features, press left on your arrow keys until the Gas Next Exit sign lights up. Press Enter and see Phlemming's final scene.

You are right in saying this is an egg, I'm not going to argue that. My question is why in the world did they bother putting this on there? Were they really that desperate for an egg, that they just copy a little scene from a movie and paste it in some place that it's (not THAT) hard to find? It just doesn't make sense to me.
